Happy Thanksgiving :)

With four religions in my family, it's shocking to hear that I have never subscribed to any of the organized religions :)

How does that song go? "organized religions...what are they good for?,,,absolutely nothing", lol.

I guess that's not entirely true. I realize that there are many folks who truly need such a thing or a person to tell them what to or not to do. Differentiating right from wrong...if only for one day out of the week or on special occasions. The rest of the year could very well be open to one's interpretations or circumstance, lol.

Of course what they don't realize is the degree at which everything is being dictated to them.

I don't count my blessings once or twice a year or just after a close encounter with horrible event. I give thanks every-time that I meditate which has been as many as 4-5 times a day for the past oh 7 years?

I'm thankful for having a roof over my head, for having food in my stomach, for having a bed to sleep on, for the little things that mean so much to me, on any given day. For the reliable car to get us around, for the glorious days, clean air, water & food here,...

Having lived as long as I have & experience as much as I have, I also know that if there is a guy/s upstairs, he/they also has a sense of humour, sigh.

So I always end everything by adding a "so far" at the end of it. So as an example I would say, "I'm thankful for the food that we have to eat, "so far", lol.

Anyhow I suppose we all have our own ways of expressing our gratitude. But isn't it good to make a conscious effort to at least recognize it to or

for ourselves?

Also whether we decide to share our great fortune with the less fortunate, would be our decision.

I will probably post how I'm doing just that as it happens or when I get a chance but let me tell you that it feels good to help :)

Happy Thanksgiving folks
